When a name like Cullinan graces Dubai's culinary scene, expectations soar higher than the Burj Al Arab itself. Is it the automotive royalty of Rolls-Royce? The priceless diamond that inspired its name? Or perhaps Dubai's newest temple to premium cuts and coastal elegance? The answer, much like the restaurant itself, exceeds all anticipation.
Perched along Marsa Al Arab's glittering waterfront, Cullinan commands a panorama that transforms dining into theater. The terrace frames the Gulf like a living painting, with the sail-shaped silhouette of Burj Al Arab completing what might be Dubai's most Instagram-worthy backdrop. Yet beyond this visual feast lies an even greater culinary revelation.
Step inside to discover an atmosphere where Mayfair sophistication dances with nautical charm. The open kitchen operates with Swiss-watch precision - chefs moving in harmonious rhythm between flame-kissed grills and artfully plated starters. Here, luxury speaks in whispers rather than shouts; evident in the polished brass accents reflecting candlelight across marble surfaces.
The menu opens with a revelation: venison tonnato that redefines Italian classics. Paper-thin slices of forest-kissed game meet velvety tuna-infused sauce - an unlikely pairing executed with such finesse it demands repeat visits simply to sample other starters.
The true crescendo arrives as Silver Fern Farms' grass-fed beef makes its entrance - crusted with caramelized perfection yet yielding like butter beneath the knife. These aren't mere steaks but carnivorous sonnets composed over open flames. Their legendary chips deserve Michelin recognition alone: shatteringly crisp exteriors giving way to cloud-soft centers in golden layers worthy of architectural praise.
Dessert brings patisserie wizardry in millefeuille form - each delicate layer whispering sweet nothings between featherlight pastry and vanilla-kissed cream.
